Glycol

Ethylene Glycol

Approx Price: Rs 68 / Kilogram
Ethylene Glycol is an organic compound having molecular formula as CH2OHCH2OH. Ethylene Glycol, offered by Chemtex Speciality Limited, is widely used as an antifreeze and automotive heat transfer fluid. It is clear, colorless and practically odorless liquid completely soluble in water. Ethylene Glycol is corrosive and toxic.

Application and Dosage
:

In new plant or normal conditions, the dosage of CHEMTEX'S ETHYLENE GLYCOL is ranged from 1.0 to 1.2% v/v. However, the required dosage may vary depending upon working conditions, pH and glycol-liquor ratio.

Please refer your CSL representative to calculate the required dosage for your plant.

Inhibited Propylene Glycol

Inhibited Ethylene Glycol

Approx Price: Rs 110 / Kilogram
Chemtex manufactured product Inhibited Ethylene Glycol is used as an industrial coolant, antifreeze heat transfer agent. The inhibitor package has been designed specially to protect brass, cast iron, copper, solder, steel, aluminum and other metals commonly found in the industrial cooling and heating systems.

The effectiveness of Inhibited Ethylene Glycol in preventing corrosion has been proven in extensive laboratory and in actual service tests. Using the product for heat transfer applications instead of brine solutions or uninhibited ethylene glycol helps in reducing maintenance costs and improves heat transfer efficiency.

Inhibited Diethylene Glycol

Approx Price: Rs 110 / Kilogram
Glycol functions as an effective heat transfer fluid. Alternatives fail as heat transfer fluids because of the following reasons:
  • Water is ineffective for freezing applications since it freezes at zero degree Centrigrade
  • Uninhibited Glycol gets oxidized in presence of air
  • Alcohol is flammable and volatile
  • Defrosting chemicals are energy consuming

Diethylene Glycol is mostly used heat transfer fluid for manufacturing of antifreeze coolants and brake fluids. It is clear colourless in appearance with a slightly characteristic odour.
Inhibited DEG accompanies an additional inhibitor bundle which incorporates efficient corrosion inhibitors protecting copper, cast iron, steel, aluminium, metal welds and various metals normally found in the industrial heating and cooling systems.

Mono Ethylene Glycol

Approx Price: Rs 65 / kg
Mono Ethylene Glycol, or simply, Ethylene Glycol is an organic compound having the molecular formula as CH2OHCH2OH. Ethylene Glycol is widely used as an antifreeze and automotive heat transfer fluid. It is clear, colorless and practically odorless liquid completely soluble in water.

Ethylene Glycol is corrosive and toxic. Ingestion can result in death.

Application area for antifreeze:
  • Thermal Storage System
  • Breweries & Distilleries
  • Heating And Cooling Systems
  • Dairy & Ice Cream
  • Packaged Food Freezing
  • Fish Processing Units
  • Snow Melting And Refrigeration
  • Ice Skating Rinks
  • Vegetable Oil Industry
  • Pharmaceutical & Bulk Drugs

Mono Propylene Glycol

Approx Price: Rs 110 / kg
Chemtex Speciality Limited manufactured product Mono Propylene Glycol is an organic compound having the molecular formula as HO-CH2CH2(OH)CH3. Mono Propylene Glycol is widely known to be used as an antifreeze for food grade applications. It is clear, colorless and practically odorless liquid completely soluble in water.

Mono Propylene Glycol is slightly soluble in aromatic hydrocarbon solvents and only slightly miscible with aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents.

Diethylene Glycol (DEG)

Approx Price: Rs 60 / Kilogram
Diethylene Glycol (DEG) is a colourless, odourless liquid used for manufacturing of coolant, antifreeze and brake fluids with anti-boiling and antifreezing characteristics. It is denser than water. It is used to make other chemicals.

DEG is poisonous, and dermal contact may slightly irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Ingestion may lead to toxicity. Diethylene glycol is an organic compound with the formula (HOCH2CH2)2O. It is hygroscopic in nature with a sweetish taste. It is miscible in water, alcohol, ether, acetone, and ethylene glycol. DEG is a widely used solvent.
